jpnn.com – JAKARTA – Two members of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Habibburokhman (Gerindra) and Achmad Baidowi alias Awiek (PPP) were the targets of bottles thrown by the crowd of demonstrators in front of the Indonesian House of Representatives Building, Jakarta, Thursday (22/8) afternoon.
Habibburokhman and Awiek were hit by the throwing while they were on the command car.
Previously, Habibburokhman wanted to meet the masses who demonstrated against the ratification of the Revised Regional Election Law.
However, his wish was cancelled because he saw the crowd that was already heating up waiting at the pedestrian exit of the DPR RI building.
Habibburokhman was shouted at by the crowd as a traitor.
Not long after, Habibburokhman came out and got into the command car.
That’s where the bottle throwing incident happened.
It is known that this demonstration is part of the ‘Indonesian emergency warning’ movement which went viral on social media after the DPR maneuvered to ignore the Constitutional Court’s decision.
Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives from the Gerindra faction, Habibburokhman, failed to meet a number of civil society elements who will hold a demonstration to reject the ratification of the Revised Regional Election Law.
