Luis Lacalle Poupresident of the Republic, and Yamandú Orsimayor of Canelones and presidential candidate, participated together in a business activity in the Progreso Industrial Pole.
During the event, the president confronted the representative of the Frente Amplio, who in recent weeks had expressed criticism of the government in relation to the case of the drug trafficker. Sebastian Marsetin addition to questioning Lacalle Pou’s position regarding the upcoming elections.

However, he said he agreed that “the tone must be lowered” and stressed that he did not respond to the president: “It was not appropriate, because the role was going to be bigger,” he noted.
When asked if Lacalle Pou’s comment was a response to his criticism regarding the case of drug trafficker Sebastián Marset, Orsi responded that he does not understand “why they bother him so much.”
“If I understand that I have to apologize, of course [que lo haré], but I don’t understand where the thing is coming from. “I ask for clarity,” she expressed.
The relationship with Lacalle, Orsi added, at the institutional level, is hardly “correct,” but “there is a personal issue that always exists, but it is good that it does not interfere with the health of the institutions.”
Orsi assured that Lacalle Pou “is campaigning” and stressed that “it is not that strange”: “I’m not horrified by it or offended by it.”
