Lacey Chabert adn Dustin Milligan, the leads of the 2024 holiday film “Hot Frosty,†have expressed a strong desire too collaborate on future projects, citing a remarkably positive experience during filming.

The on-screen chemistry between Chabert, known for her numerous Hallmark Channel roles including “Meen Girls,†and Milligan, of “Schitt’s creek†fame, clearly extended beyond the set of “Hot Frosty,†where Chabert played a widow who magically brings a snowman to life. The film, released in 2024, follows her character as she helps the snowman navigate the complexities of the real world.
What makes a successful on-screen pairing? According to Milligan, it’s a genuine enjoyment of the work process, something he and Chabert clearly shared. “Any opportunity where you get to reunite with somebody that you enjoyed working with and actually had an element of joy in the work process, it’s so rare,†he said.
Chabert echoed that sentiment, stating, “I would love that opportunity.I had so much fun on the movie with you, and if we have the chance, I’d be so thrilled and I really hope that is something that happens.†She described working with Milligan as “a dream,†adding, “I had such a lovely time with him on ‘Hot Frosty’ last year, and this was such a fun way to tell a holiday story in a new format and to get to be together for a day on set.â€
Milligan’s appreciation for Chabert’s work extends beyond their collaboration. He and his wife, Amanda Crew, are “such big fans of [chabert’s] ability to make Christmas movies engaging again and again and again,†he noted, adding that experiencing her talent firsthand was a delight. He playfully suggested a potential sequel, quipping, “Maybe it’s going to be like ‘Hot Frosty 2: Even Frostier, whatever it is.’â€
The duo’s positive working relationship continued this year with a reunion for “Maybe This Christmas,†a five-episode festive microdrama created for Maybelline. The experience further solidified their desire to collaborate again, highlighting the rarity of finding such a harmonious professional connection.
Milligan praised the ease of working with Chabert, saying, “To be able to kind of IRL (in real life) get to experience that and work together – and then also have it be so easy – yeah, it’s such a joy. And any opportunity that we get (I’d do it).â€
