“Given the current weather conditions, the station can no longer accommodate you”. In the middle of school holidays, the Semnoz ski resort, in Haute-Savoie, took the radical decision to close its slopes on December 23. However, the season was shaping up well: the cold was freezing in mid-December, snow was falling in abundance. But the heavy rains, due to the excessively mild temperatures, swept away the coat and the hopes of the ski resorts most sensitive to climatic hazards.
