(Malik Ashraf) Lahore High Court has issued major orders regarding smog prevention, Lahore High Court has ordered the burning of tires and demolition of oil plants, the court has asked the Punjab government to make a bus policy for private schools. Ordered too.

Justice Shahid Karim of Lahore High Court heard the smog remediation case, the members of the Environment Commission submitted the implementation report about the court orders, Deputy Attorney General Asad Ali Bajwa, Deputy Director of Environment Ali Ijaz and others appeared, Justice Shahid Karim ordered. That a policy should be made to bring students in school buses instead of personal conveyance in private educational institutions.

During the hearing, Justice Shahid Karim remarked that the Education Department should not renew the registration of schools that do not bring children on buses, action should be continued against smoke-emitting factories, smog season is coming, without discrimination against smoke-emitting industries. Action should be taken, while expressing displeasure over not making proper arrangements during the construction and repair of the road on Canal Road, he said that the citizens are facing difficulties due to inadequate arrangements during the repair of the road, on the road under construction on Canal Road. Notice boards should be displayed.

Justice Shahid Karim further remarked that despite spending crores of rupees for the beautification of the underpasses, the beautification is dilapidated, DGLDA should inquire into the matter of underpasses.

Later, the court adjourned the further hearing of the case till next Friday.
