Heat wave
Tens of thousands of people are affected by the heat wave across Europe. Governments are taking many precautionary measures to avoid the heat. Britain has experienced its worst drought in 70 years. Catchment levels in major water bodies have reduced significantly. Also, calamities like forest fires are putting pressure on the government. In this case, Garda, the largest lake in the European country Italy, has dried up. As a result, the rocks at the bottom of the lake are exposed.

Italy is located in the southern part of Europe. A heat wave in Europe has also hit Italy hard. Due to this there has been a drought which is unprecedented in the last 70 years. Also, the water catchment in Garda, the country’s largest lake, has decreased significantly. Local researchers have reported that the water level in the lake has decreased to the lowest level in the last 15 years.
As the water level in the lake decreases, the rocks inside are exposed. Tourists coming to the lake tirelessly explore the area by walking on these rocks. Some of the tourists talking about this say, “We came here last year. It was full of water. This year only rocks are visible. The environment has changed badly. It is shocking.”
Drought
Northern Italy has not seen significant rainfall for months. And the local Meteorological Department has reported that snowfall has reduced by 70% this year. Many European countries are also facing drought this summer, including Spain, Germany, Portugal, France and the Netherlands. These countries are encouraging authorities to limit water use and freeze agriculture and shipping industries.
