There is a clash between Lakshmi Heppalkar and Ramesh Jarkiholi regarding the opening of the Belagavi-Shivaji statue.

Belagavi Rural Constituency, Congress MLA, Lakshmi Heppalkar, Kokak Constituency BJP, – MLA. Ramesh Jarkiholi. Both are polar opposites in politics. Ramesh is making efforts to bring down Lakshmi.

In this situation, Lakshmi decided to install a statue of Maratha hero Shivaji in Belagavi Rural Rajahamsa area. Work has been done since 2019.

While the government allocated Rs 3.50 crore, Lakshmi contributed Rs 1.50 crore for her share.

It has been decided to open the statue on March 5. Lakshmi has decided to invite All India Congress president Kharge and Maratha Congress leaders to inaugurate the statue. His reckoning was that by unveiling this statue, he could easily attract the votes of the Maratha people.

But he is doing this for politics, alleged Ramesh Jarkiholi. Yesterday, he protested at the place where the statue was to be unveiled.

‘Chief Minister Basavaraj Tommy did not invite district in-charge minister Govind Karjol to open the statue. We will not allow the statue to be opened,’ he said.

At that time, Lakshmi’s brother and member of the Congress Council, Shannaraj, who came there, said, ‘Ramesh Jarkiholi, what is the minister in charge of Belagavi district? What is his job in this constituency?’ Congress, BJP and volunteers raised slogans.

Later, Ramesh Jarkiholi gave an interview, “I don’t want to talk about Channaraj. He did not enter politics through protests. Kalveesi became a member of the council on vehicles,” he said.

Shannaraj replied, “He has insulted the 3,700 people who elected me as a council member.”
