Berlin: Indian youngster Lakshya Sen advanced to the semifinals of the German Open badminton tournament. In the quarter finals, Sen defeated India’s HS Pranoy to advance to the semifinals.
Sen’s success is for direct games. Score: 21-15, 21-16. The match lasted just 39 minutes. Lakshya Sen will face Denmark’s Victor Axelsen, the first seed in the semis.
Meanwhile, in another quarter, India’s hopeful Kidambi Srikanth was eliminated. Srikanth was crushed by Axelsen. Srikanth’s defeat was for direct games. Score: 21-10, 23-21.
With this, the men’s team reached the semi – final line. In the first semi-final, Lakshya Sen and Axel Sen will face off, while in the second semi, Lee Xia Jia will face Kunlawut Vitidson.
