It’s called not putting all your eggs in one basket. While Lamborghini demonstrates its attachment to the thermal engine with the Revuelto, whose electrification is limited to rechargeable hybridization precisely allowing the V12 to be perpetuated, which has made the reputation of Sant’Agata Bolognese since 1963, the product plan of the bull brand will count many 100% electric models from 2028. This partial conversion should start with the Lanzador, a 2+2 grand touring coupé crossover, i.e. with small rear seats allowing up to four occupants to be transported, at least on short trips.

Four-wheel drive and steering

Under the bodywork with the angular design typical of the brand since the legendary Countach, the Lanzador hides a promising electric platform but about which Lamborghini engineers are still stingy with information. It has just been announced that the power will exceed one megawatt (1,360 hp) and that it will be distributed variably not only between the two axles, but also between the two rear wheels, which suggests the presence of three motors electrical. The dynamic qualities should also benefit from an active suspension and a steering system acting on all four wheels.

Part of the range should remain thermal

The price of this future Lanzador which should be placed under the Urus in the Lamborghini range has not yet been disclosed. The Urus itself – which will become a rechargeable hybrid from 2024 – should be replaced by a 100% electric model in 2029. Huracan expected for 2024 should also keep a heat engine.
