Voted the best player at Euro 2024, the young player did not hide his joy at what the Spanish team achieved
The world of football fell at his feet and Lamine Yamal will never forget Euro 2024. At the age of 17, the Barcelona youngster not only became the champion of Europe, but was also voted the best young player in the tournament, which equals the assist record in his single edition and broke Pelé’s record as the youngest ever to take part in the final of a major national team tournament.
During the celebration of the the Redin Berlin, the young Barcelona player did not hide that he won the Euro the day after he celebrated his seventeenth birthday and that this was the best present he could have ever had.

“I am very happy. This is a dream. I’m really looking forward to returning to Spain to celebrate with all the fans. It is the best birthday present ever. When England drew, it was difficult. I don’t know what this team is made of, but we always manage to recover”, emphasized Lamine Yamal, speaking to TVE.
When asked about the seriousness of the competition despite his youth, Yamal emphasized that it was a group effort: «All my teammates helped me and now I am very happy.»
