Bavaria judiciary catches Darkweb boss

Landshut – Germany’s dark web king is caught!

Investigators have arrested the alleged operator of one of the largest German drug platforms on the Internet.

︎ The 22-year-old computer science student from Lower Bavaria is suspected of having operated the illegal marketplace for drugs under the name “Germany on the Deep Web”. This was announced by the Federal Criminal Police Office and the Central Office for Cybercrime Bavaria (ZCB).

According to ZCB spokesman Thomas Goger, the man was arrested in Landshut. After months of investigation, the police took him into custody at his home, where they also found some marijuana and a dummy weapon. The man is now in custody.

According to ZCB, the student has been running the third version of the platform since November 2018. The cheeky motto: “No control, everything is allowed”. Well…

According to the investigators, around 16,000 users were registered on the platform, 72 of whom were active traders. Goger: “This means that ‘Germany on the Deep Web’ is one of the largest German-speaking Darknet platforms.” The site has been offline for months.

The 22-year-old is now being investigated for operating a criminal trading platform on the Internet. If convicted, he faces up to 10 years in prison, according to investigators.

The man is no stranger: According to BILD information, he was sentenced by the district court of Landau an der Isar in 2019 – because he had hacked his high school in 2018!

• According to the investigators, the “Germany on the Deep Web” platform was first published in 2013 on the hidden part of the Internet.

In 2016 she suddenly became known. It was there that the assassin from the Olympia shopping center in Munich, Ali David Sonboly, bought his gun and ammunition in 2016. The operator at the time was sentenced to several years in prison.

This now threatens the student as well.
