Landslide Closes Road in Tangerang Due to Heavy Rain

A landslide ⁣struck‍ Jalan Rancahaur in Karang Tengah‌ Village, Pagedangan District, Tangerang Regency, Banten. Heavy rainfall triggered the earth movement, ⁢causing significant displacement of soil.

“Residents reported a landslide​ due to intense rainfall, leading to soil shifting and the subsequent​ landslide,” ⁤stated Agun Guntara, Head ⁢of Disaster Management and Logistics at Tangerang Regency’s Disaster Mitigation‌ Agency (BPBD), on Tuesday, November 5, ⁤2024.

The landslide incident was reported​ to BPBD Tangerang Regency at 4:50 PM ‍WIB. BPBD officials immediately rushed ‍to‍ the scene to assess the situation.⁢

“Thankfully, the ⁤situation is under control. There were no casualties or‌ vehicle ‌damage ⁢reported,” Guntara assured.

BPBD Tangerang Regency promptly collaborated with relevant authorities. The landslide, measuring 40 meters in length and 7‍ meters deep, severed the road connection.

“This ⁤landslide, ‍spanning approximately 40 meters​ with a depth of 7 meters, resulted in the closure of the⁤ village road in Kampung Rancahaur,” Guntara explained.

Jalan Rancahaur⁢ serves as a vital link‍ between Karang ⁣Tengah ⁣Village in⁣ Pagedangan District, Tangerang Regency, and Parung Panjang District, Bogor Regency, West Java. Residents remain concerned about the rising water levels in Sungai Cimanceuri.

“Residents⁣ are worried about the increasing flow of Sungai Cimanceuri,” Guntara added.
