Prime Minister Yair Lapid responded this evening (Tuesday) to the announcement that Prime Minister-designate Benjamin Netanyahu wants to replace all the drivers in the Prime Minister’s motorcade.

Lapid: “When I assumed the position of Prime Minister, I met the drivers who work in the office. Some of them for years, some of them for over twenty years. Good people, professional, with families.”

“Today it was announced that Netanyahu’s office is demanding that ‘everyone who worked with Lapid’ be replaced. That’s it, without explanation, without reason.”

Lapid added: “Professionals who have done nothing wrong are suddenly marked, they will suffer worse conditions. Maybe they will be fired. How easy it is to hurt people, and why? For what reason? What did they do wrong.”

His words were sealed by Lapid with a request to Netanyahu: “Bibi, don’t do it. It’s inappropriate.”
