DECRYPTION – The government unveiled this Monday morning new measures to protect the purchasing power of the French. A food check should be put in place in the coming months.
A small tricolor logo will soon indicate on the shelves the “anti-inflation” products selected by distributors at the request of the government. Almost all of the brands undertook on Monday to offer a basket of references at the price “as low as possible”for a whole term (March, April, May). “This anti-inflation quarter will be a massive, effective, protective device”, promised Monday Bruno Le Maire, the Minister of Economy and Finance. The only major absentee in the family photo of the large distribution taken this Monday at Bercy will have been Michel-Édouard Leclerc. The president of the strategic committee of the E.Leclerc centers believes that he does not need to be “in the photo to say that Leclerc sells for less” than its competitors, anti-inflation basket or not.
