The president of the San Salvador 2023 Games Organizing Committee (COSSAN2023), Yamil Bukele, announced that the Las Delicias National Stadium has received official certification from the International Federation of Associated Soccer (FIFA), which allows the stadium to be the official headquarters of the men’s and women’s soccer tournaments of the regional sports fair that will be inaugurated on June 23.
It will be this sports venue in which the 29 games will be played in the 10 days of competition of this sport, one of the most anticipated by the Salvadoran and international fans for the San Salvador 2023 Games.
In the men’s branch, the competition will begin this coming Wednesday, June 28, while the women’s will do so on Thursday 29.
The medal matches for men’s soccer will be played on Thursday, July 6, and for women’s, on Friday, July 7.
Men’s soccer will have the participation of seven teams, in which the Honduran team, bronze medalist in Barranquilla 2018, and the Salvadoran team, as hosts of the games, stand out.
In women’s soccer, eight national teams will be present, with the outstanding participation of Mexico, Costa Rica and Venezuela, gold, silver and bronze medalists, respectively, in the 2018 Barranquilla Games.
