Las Vegas, NV – A recently released body camera footage shows the Las Vegas man charged in Tupac Shakur’s murder, Duane “Keffe D” Davis, bragging about being arrested in “the biggest case in Las Vegas history.” In the video, Davis proclaims his bold statement to an officer while sitting in the backseat of a police cruiser following his capture on September 29.

During the interaction, the officer asks Davis about the reason for his arrest, to which Davis replies, “Oh man, the biggest case in Las Vegas history.” When asked if it was a recent incident, Davis mentions the date September 7, 1996, referring to the night Shakur was fatally shot in a drive-by shooting on the Las Vegas Strip.

Davis, now 60 years old, has been indicted for murder with the use of a deadly weapon, along with a gang enhancement, over the death of the iconic rapper. Prosecutors have described him as the “on-ground, on-site commander” and “shot caller” who ordered Shakur’s killing.

Davis was one of four individuals inside the white Cadillac that pulled up next to Shakur’s vehicle. He claims his nephew, Orlando Anderson, was the one who fired the gun, causing fatal injuries to Shakur. The other three individuals in the vehicle have since passed away, making Davis the sole person charged in the rapper’s murder.

Davis was apprehended by police while he was on his early morning walk. He unknowingly walked past two undercover officers who had staked out in an unmarked pickup truck. The arresting officers took Davis into custody without incident, and he cooperated during the search, only asking for a drink of water while being handcuffed.

Following his arrest, Davis had several questions for the officers transporting him to the police headquarters. He inquired if they had been following him the previous night and questioned why the media wasn’t present during his arrest.

Davis made his first appearance in Las Vegas Court on Wednesday, and he was subsequently returned to his solitary cell at the Clark County Detention Center. His next court date, scheduled for October 19, is set for his plea hearing.

Due to concerns for his safety, Davis, a self-confessed member of the South Side Compton Crips gang, is being kept separate from other inmates. Authorities are taking precautionary measures to ensure his well-being, as there are worries that he may be targeted by fellow prisoners.

As the trial progresses, authorities will continue to monitor Davis’s situation and implement necessary security measures to ensure his safety.
