The body of the chief commissioner Milton Morales Figueroafrom the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) of Mexico City, will be transferred to Aguascalientes, his home state, to be buried.
Morales Figueroa, who was killed on Sunday in Coacalco, State of Mexico, played a crucial role as General Coordinator of the Strategy, Tactics and Special Operations Unit.
This Monday, at a funeral home located in the State of Mexico, family, friends, superiors and colleagues of Milton Morales Figueroa gathered to say their last goodbye.
The religious ceremony was marked by deep solemnity, with an honor guard mounted around the coffin and wreaths and floral arrangements sent by the various Subsecretariats of the SSC CDMX.
The Secretary of Public Safety, Pablo Vázquez Camacho, expressed his condolences to the family of Morales Figueroa, assuring them that they have the support and solidarity of the entire department.
“Milton’s determination, professionalism, commitment, dedication, extraordinary work and discipline will remain etched in our memories. We will honor his legacy and continue to take firm steps in the fight against crime,” said Vázquez Camacho.
Milton Morales Figueroa was born in Aguascalientes and was a law professor with more than 17 years of experience in security issues.
His career included positions in the defunct Federal Police, where he served as Deputy Director General, and in the Attorney General’s Office (FGR), where he continued his work in the same position, contributing significantly to investigative strategies.
In Mexico City, he served as Director of the Anti-Kidnapping Force at the Attorney General’s Office (FGJ) before joining the SSC.
Among the recognitions he has received throughout his career are the second class medal for police merit awarded by the Federal Police in 2012, the recognition of the Senate of the Republic as an exemplary official in 2016, and the recognition of extraordinary performance and work by the PGR in 2017.
Thanks to his experience and great investigative profile, Morales Figueroa led and participated in important operations, such as the largest seizure of cocaine in Mexico City and obtaining the first arrest warrant under the Olympia Law.
At the end of the mass, outside the funeral home, the War Bands of the Auxiliary, Banking and Industrial Police and the Zorros Group of the SSC intoned the moment of silence.
An aircraft from the General Directorate of Air Services Cóndores flew over the area, scattering a shower of rose petals as a sign of tribute.
