Last longer in bed: researchers have revealed the physical activity that will help with this

by time news

A new scientific review published in Trends in Urology & Men’s Health looked at different techniques that could help men last longer during sex without using erectile dysfunction drugs like Viagra. The researchers from England Ruskin University in Great Britain, were helped by men who suffer from premature ejaculation, which occurs when the sperm leaves the body earlier than expected during intercourse.

Premature ejaculation is not a cause for concern if it does not occur often, about one in three men will experience premature ejaculation in their lifetime. But if this phenomenon repeats itself, in which the man ejaculates within one to three minutes from the moment of penetration, he can feel great distress and frustration, to the point of avoiding intimacy because of it, according to the Mayo Clinic.

Premature ejaculation is linked to several harmful health conditions, including psychological distress, poor self-esteem, anxiety, decreased libido and poor interpersonal relationships, according to the study. Smith, a professor of public health at England’s Ruskin University and author of the review, said: “Methods that help men last longer in the bedroom can contribute to improving their relationship with their partners and their self-esteem.”

The researchers conducted 54 studies that included 3,485 men between the ages of 18 and 45, with 35 of them being instructed to run at least 30 minutes a day for five days a week. The rest were told to walk no more than 30 minutes a day for five days a week. In another study, 26 men were asked to exercise their bodies in yoga for 12 weeks. The study showed that the average ejaculation time tripled, increasing from 26 seconds to almost a minute and a half. Additionally, the review revealed that pelvic floor exercises can also help men last longer in bed.

Overall, the researchers concluded that exercise could be a potential treatment to improve men’s performance in the bedroom. “This evidence is based on studies that included a small number of men and we now need more research in this area. But there is no doubt that physical activity helps men,” Professor Smith concluded.
