American duo Twenty One Pilots will present a new record in Prague next year. One of the most played bands today will return to the Czech capital after six years. She last performed last year at the Colors of Ostrava festival, where, in addition to world hits, she performed a cover version of the folk song Co jste hasiči.

The concert will take place on April 12, 2025 in Prague’s O2 arena. Tickets starting at 1,490 crowns will be on sale in the Ticketmaster and Ticketportal networks from next Friday, announced the Live Nation agency, which organizes the event.

The duo from the US state of Ohio consists of former high school friends, singer and multi-instrumentalist Tyler Joseph and drummer Josh Dun. Both grew up in pious families. When they first met and started talking about music, the topic lasted all night. “We had so much in common. I’ve never felt so close to anyone,” Dun described to the New York Times.

With a cross-genre combination of rock, pop, rap and reggae, they broke into stadiums after the release of their fourth album Blurryface in 2015, which contained hits such as Stressed Out or Ride. Their single Heathens from the movie Suicide Squad also hit the charts. “They were successful because they had a different sound than everyone else,” summed up Tom Poleman, chief playwright of the largest owner of the US radio network iHeartMedia, where Twenty One Pilots’ music was among the most played.

Also, thanks to imaginative videos and thorough work with social networks, the pair has built a community of fans all over the world in just a few years. To this day, their work is one of the most requested items on streaming services. “They owe it, among other things, to short-cut hits, which with their cadence resemble sequences on social networks,” wrote Aktuálně.cz, according to which Twenty One Pilots pay attention to strong melodies and memorable slogans.

They often cross genres on purpose. “One moment they play funk, then comes a rock passage, after which Tyler Joseph starts rapping. Within a few beats, he jumps to reggae rhythms, soon to muddy drum’n’bass or raging electronic dubstep. The roar typical of hardcore concerts is no exception,” the website described . Similar procedures can also be expected from the upcoming Clancy album, which they will release on May 17 this year and present it in Prague next year.

A euphoric show with even theatrical elements is typical for Twenty One Pilots, with which they sold out Prague’s O2 arena in 2019 and last presented it the year before last on the first day of the Colors of Ostrava festival. The musicians in black balaclavas entered the open-air stage, climbed onto the wooden piano, tore off their masks, and the drummer somersaulted back behind his kit.

In the course of the evening, among other things, they climbed the scaffolding, let themselves be held by the hands of fans in the first rows or lit a bonfire in the middle of the open-air stage and sat down next to it as if on a trance. The couple was accompanied the whole time by a five-member band of musicians alternating between electric guitars, bass guitar and keyboards with instruments such as trumpet, violin and harmonica.
