Late Goal Secures Narrow Victory for Ajax Against Vojvodina in Europa League Qualifier

A last-minute goal from Branco van den Boomen in the 86th minute gave Ajax a narrow 1-0 victory in the first leg of the second qualifying round of the Europa League against Vojvodina, whom they will visit next week for the return leg to be played in Serbia.

The historic Ajax, five-time European champions, has found themselves competing in the preliminary phase of the Europa League this season, with Italian coach Francesco Farioli at the helm, after finishing fifth in the Eredivisie 2023-2024. Today they made their debut with a close victory at the Johan Cruyff Arena in Amsterdam.
