The death toll of Palestinians as a result of the ongoing Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, since October 7, has risen to more than 39,090 dead and more than 90,147 others injured.

Politically, the newspaper revealed:Washington PostAmerican, details of the “Emirati plan” related to the “day after” in Gaza after the end of the war, which was discussed during a meeting held in Abu Dhabi, with the participation of officials from the United States, Israel and the Emirates.

The Washington Post said, “The participants in the meeting discussed the role that the reformist Palestinian Authority could play in inviting a group of countries to provide forces to support stability in Gaza,” in addition to “discussing a list of potential Palestinian Authority leaders, headed by former Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad.”

According to the Washington Post, the essence of the Emirati proposal “is based on a reformist Palestinian Authority that calls on international partners to support security and humanitarian aid in Gaza during a stabilization phase that could last up to a year.”

The newspaper reported that “the Emiratis prefer Salam Fayyad, the prime minister of the Palestinian Authority from 2007 to 2013, as the new leader of the Palestinian Authority’s reform efforts,” noting that “Israel is likely to be willing to accept that.”

Participants in the meeting also discussed “the possibility of obtaining security support from non-Arab countries as well, including Italy, Rwanda, Brazil, Indonesia, and a leading country in Central Asia,” according to the newspaper, which said that the United States, in turn, would provide “command and control and logistical support, from a nearby base in Egypt.”

According to the Washington Post, the UAE explained in the paper its basic ideas, which are that the “reformist” Palestinian Authority would issue an invitation to security service providers, “while Israel would agree not to undermine this effort in Gaza, by not taking provocative steps in the West Bank that would lead to an explosion of the security situation.”

The UAE also hopes, according to the newspaper, that “the United States will work to refine a road map towards the eventual establishment of a Palestinian state, even if Israel does not support it.”

The UAE plan for the Gaza Strip after the war includes “the establishment of a gradually expanding security zone with international support, from the north of the Strip to its south, which is similar to the proposal of Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant to establish security ‘bubbles’, although the participants in the meeting do not use this term,” according to the newspaper.

The newspaper said: “Although Netanyahu publicly rejected Galant’s proposal, the participation of the Minister of Strategic Affairs in the meeting indicates that he may be willing to accept a new version of this proposal.”

The site wasAxiosThe American revealed that “the UAE Foreign Minister, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, hosted a meeting to discuss post-war plans in Gaza, attended by the US President’s Senior Advisor for Middle East Affairs, Brett McGurk, and State Department Advisor Tom Sullivan, and from the Israeli side, Minister of Strategic Affairs Ron Dermer, who is close to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.”
