jpnn.com – JAKARTA – There is news circulating that the schedule for the inauguration of regional heads elected as a result of the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections will be postponed to March 2025.
The original schedule was that the inauguration of regional heads was scheduled for February 2025.
Chairman of Commission II DPR RI Rifqinizamy Karsayuda confirmed the news.
He said the inauguration was postponed because the Constitutional Court (MK) would resolve all General Election Results Dispute (PHPU) cases from the 2024 Simultaneous Pilkada, on March 13 2025.
“And the Constitutional Court will only issue all letters stating that there is no dispute to all elected governors and mayors after the PHPU is completed at the Constitutional Court,” said Rifqinizamy when contacted in Jakarta, Thursday (2/1).
In this way, according to him, elected regional heads who are not in dispute at the MK must still wait for the completion of the PHPU of other regions at the MK so that the inauguration can be carried out simultaneously.
“That is the basic principle of simultaneous regional elections. Therefore, those who are not in dispute must wait for the dispute to be resolved at the Constitutional Court,” he said.
Based on Presidential Regulation Number 80 of 2024 concerning procedures for inaugurating regional heads, the inauguration of the governor and deputy governor elected from the 2024 Simultaneous Pilkada is scheduled to be held on February 7 2025.
The following is the latest information on the schedule for the inauguration of regional heads as a result of the 2024 regional elections, postponed from the original schedule in February.
