jpnn.comJAKARTA – The long journey of the dispute over ownership of the Lambe Turah account on Instagram has finally found a bright spot.

The Supreme Court (MA) issued a decision stating that the Lambe Turah brand and logo legally belong to Argo Dinar Darmono.

This decision also cancels the trademark registration by Nanda Persada, which previously claimed to be the owner.

Through Decision Number 1214 K/Pdt. Sus-HKI/2024, the Supreme Court decided that Argo is the sole owner who has the rights to the Lambe Turah brand and logo in Indonesia.

The ruling emphasizes the importance of legal protection in trademark disputes, especially in the digital era, where social media accounts have high economic value.

“Nanda Persada has registered the Lambe Turah brand without the permission of the original owner, which is a violation of intellectual property rights,” said Petrus Bala Pattyona, Argo’s lawyer, during a press conference in South Jakarta.

Previously, Nanda Persada, who was part of Lambe Turah’s management between 2017 and 2021, submitted a trademark registration in his own name on March 6 2020.

This registration was carried out without the approval of Argo Dinar Darmono as the originator and original owner of the account.
