Chennai residents will not see a change in petrol and diesel prices this week. As of today, the cost of one liter of petrol in the city is Rs. 102.63, while diesel is being sold at Rs. 94.24 per liter.

Water Storage and Discharge at Various Lakes in Chennai

Pujal Lake, with a capacity of 3300 million cubic feet, currently has a water storage of 1843 million cubic feet. The lake witnessed a discharge of 159 cubic feet of water. Cholavaram Lake, with a capacity of 1081 million cubic feet, has a water storage of 126 million cubic feet and witnessed a discharge of 20 cubic feet. Kannankottai – Teheraikandigai lake has a capacity of 500 million cubic feet, with a water reserve of 341 million cubic feet. The lake witnessed a discharge of 12 cubic feet of water.

Tragic Road Accident Claims Lives of Six Family Members

A tragic road accident on the Chinnakaundanoor National Highway near Sangakiri in Salem District has resulted in the loss of six lives. The accident occurred when an omni van collided with a lorry standing on the national highway. All six victims were members of the same family from the Perundurai area of Erode district.
