However, the Teacher Selection Board has denied issuing this notice and has lodged a complaint with the police. The fake notification announced the availability of 4,136 assistant professor positions in government arts and science colleges and other Tamilnadu establishments. Many senior officials and university members shared the news until it was discovered to be fake. The notice stated that eligible candidates can apply directly, but this information was false. Higher Education Secretary Karthikayan confirmed that it will take 2 more weeks for the actual announcement of these posts. A case has been filed by the Teacher Selection Board at the police station for spreading misinformation.

Yesterday, the notification announced that 4,136 assistant professors in government arts and science colleges and other Tamilnadu colleges are available in the name of Teacher Selection Board. The announcement was shared by many senior officials and members of the university. However, it was later revealed that it was fake.
The said notice said, “Eligible candidates will have direct recruitment. Online applications are invited from eligible candidates for the post of Assistant Professor in Government Arts and Science Colleges and Colleges of Education in Tamil Nadu College Education Service for the year 2023 – 2024.
It was mentioned on page 48 that the Teachers’ Selection Board had issued a notification for the 4,136 Assistant Professor posts vacant in the Government Arts and Science Colleges in Tamil Nadu till 5 pm on May 15. In this situation, the officials of the Tamil Nadu Teacher Examination Board informed that this notification is false information and people should not believe such fake news.
According to media reports, Higher Education Secretary Karthikayan said, “It will take 2 more weeks for TRP and Higher Education to announce these posts.” A case has been initiated at the police station on behalf of the Police Teacher Selection Board regarding the fake notification.
