The VP follows the current situation in Ukraine, as well as maintains contacts with the National Police of Ukraine, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and the Task Force of the National Guard of Ukraine. After evaluating the received requests for help, the VP decided that it is necessary to support the National Police of Ukraine, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and the task force of the National Guard of Ukraine, which is currently working in unprecedented war conditions.
After examining the lists of requested technical means, it was concluded that the VP can provide technical support by supplying 30 vehicles with their equipment to the National Police of Ukraine, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and the Task Force of the National Guard of Ukraine.
The donated vehicles are not necessary to ensure the functions of the VP, the vehicles have significant mileage and technical wear and tear, and their disposal will not create the need for the purchase of new vehicles, therefore it is possible to hand over these vehicles for disposal as unnecessary state movable property.
On the other hand, the 18 cars confiscated from drunk drivers are intended for the military units of the National Guard of Ukraine, the army units of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the military administration of the town of Heniche of the Kherson region, the village council of the Prilutka district of the Chernihiv region, the Department of Education of the Prilutka city council of the Chernihiv region, the Chernihiv region, the Prilutka district Polovtsy to the territorial center for the provision of social services of the village council.
Also, the cars will be handed over to Varvina village council of Prilutka district of Chernihiv region, Luhansk region municipal non-commercial enterprise “Luhansk regional children’s clinical hospital”, executive committee of Ivanofrankivsk city council, executive committee of Khrushivsk village council of Dnipropetrovsk region, Zolochiv village council of Kyiv region, Borispil district, Yablunivsk village council to the communal institution “Center for the provision of social services”, to the city council of Horodnya, Chernihiv region, Horodnya district.
The total preliminary market value of the 18 vehicles to be transferred to Ukraine is 70,794 euros.
Among them, the 2005 “Opel Zafira” (provisional market value of 1,550 euros), the 2006 “Ssangyong Kyron” (1,700 euros), the 2010 “Volvo XC90” (8,150 euros), the 2001 “Volvo V70″ is expected to be delivered to Ukraine. ” (153 euros), 2002 “Audi A6 Avant” (169 euros), 2008 “Opel Vectra” (2950 euros), 2008 “Volvo S60” (3200 euros), 2010 “Ford C- Max” (2700 euros) and 2003 “Volvo V70” (262 euros).
Also, 2005 “Ford Mondeo” (1,300 euros), “Opel Grandland X” of unknown production year (8,200 euros), 2006 “Toyota Land Cruiser” (8,500 euros), 2016 “Volkswagen Caddy” (600 2005 “Ford Focus LP663” (1590 euros), 2006 “Volvo S60” (1500 euros), 2019 “Volkswagen Golf” (9770 euros), 2005 “Volvo XC90” (3500 euros ) and 2014 “Mercedes Benz Viano” (15,000 euros).
It has already been reported that for sitting at the wheel, if the concentration of alcohol in the body exceeds 1.5 parts per thousand, criminal liability is provided, and in addition to the punishment, the car is also confiscated if it belongs to the offender.
According to the Law on the Support of Civilians of Ukraine, vehicles belonging to the State of Latvia can be transferred to the property of the Government of Ukraine free of charge in order to help prevent the consequences of the emergency situation related to the hostilities in Ukraine and to support the Ukrainian society. This is one of the ways Latvia helps Ukraine in the fight against Russian aggression.
The State Revenue Service (SRS) cooperates with the association “Agendum” in the transfer of vehicles confiscated from drunk drivers to Ukraine, which with the help of the so-called Twitter Convoy will ensure the delivery of the car to Ukraine and transfer to the Ukrainian government institutions, performing all necessary actions and covering all related expenses.
Association “Agendum” receives requests for assistance from various Ukrainian government institutions regarding the need for vehicles. The SRS provided the association with an up-to-date list of vehicles belonging to the state, which the association evaluated according to the received requests for assistance. The SRS offers cars that are in good driving condition to the association for evaluation.
