Latvia will soon open its borders for tourists from Russia, a negative PCR test for coronavirus will be enough for entry. Janis Bekeris, Parliamentary Secretary of the Latvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, informed Delfi about this.

According to him, the process of issuing visas for Russians will not change, and additional tests will not be required to obtain permission to enter the country. Bekeris did not announce the opening date of the borders. At the same time, it is known that until March 1, a state of emergency is in effect in Latvia, after which the requirement to observe self-isolation after entering the country will be officially canceled.

Earlier, Lithuania announced the opening of borders for traveling Russian citizens, the deadline for lifting restrictions is March 31. However, upon entry, you will need either a vaccination certificate (Russian vaccines are not recognized there), or a negative PCR test if you have a valid Schengen visa. In turn, Estonia allowed to receive Russians who were vaccinated by Sputnik or who had recovered from the coronavirus.
