The Lithuanian 3×3 basketball team made its debut at the Olympic Games on Tuesday, but three years ago, Latvia blocked the way for the Lithuanians to the Tokyo Games, defeating the Lithuanians 21:19 in the quarter-finals of the Olympic qualification tournament in the Austrian city of Graz.

The Latvian national team was also superior in the semifinals of the 2022 European Championship (21:20).

The Lithuanian national team has won second place in the 2022 World Cup, second place in the 2021 and 2023 European Cup, as well as third place in the 2019 European Cup.

In Paris, 2022 world vice-champion Gintauts Matulis, as well as 2023 European vice-champions Evalds Džaugis, Aurelijs Pukelis and Šarūns Vingelis were announced as members of the Lithuanian team.
