The Latvian dancers left behind the Lithuanian duo Edgaras Baltaragis and Indre Baltarage, while Cao Yuan and Wang Ximeng from the Republic of China came in third place. In total, 32 pairs from 8 countries participated in the World Cup. This is Edgar and Eliza’s second championship title in the World Cup in the professional category.
“It was great to dance again in China, at such a beautifully organized event. Being so far away from home, we were very happy and proud to hear the Latvian national anthem. As always, the biggest thanks must go to our dear family, friends and students who always support us. Of course, thanks also to the coaches, without whose contribution we would not be where we are today”, said Elīza and Edgars.
In parallel with the World Cup, Wuxi also took place Grand Slam tournament in the adult group for amateurs in the standard dance program, where leading Latvian dancers Vadims Šurins and Anastasija Meškova, sports dance club Mario representatives, in the competition of 178 couples, reached the final and won the high 4th place.
