Estonian Karl Patrick Lauk won the sixth stage of the Tropicale Amissa Bongo, marked by the loss of Tesson’s yellow jersey to his teammate Geoffrey Soupe.

It’s a turning point on the eve of the last stage of the Tropicale this Sunday, January 29. Jason Tesson, yellow jersey for three days, was dispossessed of the prestigious tunic by his TotalEnergies teammate, Goeffrey Soupe, after the 6th stage disputed in the streets of Port-Gentil. A breakaway made up of a dozen riders led the peloton by almost 1’30” and caused big changes in the general classification. Geoffrey Soupe, therefore, second behind the Estonian Karl Patrick Lauk, who offered his first victory of the season to his training Bingoal WB, took control of the yellow jersey.Jason Tesson collapsed and is now in tenth place in the general classification.

The Frenchman Geoffrey Soupe is ahead of two African riders on the eve of the final finish, the Algerian Hamza Amari and the Mauritian Christopher Rougier-Lagane.

The last stage will take place, like every year since the creation of the event in 2006, in the streets of the Gabonese capital, Libreville. The runners will leave from Cap Esterias to join Owendo, then the city center of the capital, before entering the final circuit of the Boulevard Triomphal between the roundabout of Democracy and that of Foreign Affairs. 130 kilometers and perhaps a first victory for Geoffrey Soupe.
