Organized by the Agency for Agricultural Development (ADA), this three-day event was enhanced by the presence of the Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forests, Mohamed Sadiki, the Director General of the ADA, El Mahdi Arrifi, the president of the Federation of Chambers of Agriculture of Morocco, Habib Bentaleb as well as the members of the jury and the representatives of cooperatives and associations active in production and marketing of local products from different regions of the Kingdom.
According to the organizers, this biannual meeting aimed at promoting the efforts made by producers and agricultural cooperatives, puts more than 1,200 local products from the 12 regions of the Kingdom into competition, a record number compared to previous editions.
This is an event whose main objective is the promotion of local products, which constitute a source of wealth creation and income for the rural world, but also an essential lever for the preservation of cultural wealth and the biodiversity that abounds in the Kingdom in the agricultural sector.
A diverse range of products is put into competition during this Competition including Argan, Amlou, couscous, honey, olive oil, olives, jams, cheeses, dates, almonds, nuts , dried figs, chili peppers, juices and vinegars.
Of all the products presented to the members of the jury, the best will be awarded medals (gold, silver or bronze) in addition to the awarding of prizes of excellence as recognition and encouragement of the best producers involved. .
Likewise, a Special Innovation Prize will be awarded, among the medal-winning products, underline the organizers, indicating that the Prize-giving ceremony will take place on the occasion of the 16th edition of the International Agricultural Show in Morocco ( SIAM) scheduled for April 22 to 28 in Meknes.
According to the organizers, this large-scale event demonstrates the commitment of the Ministry of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forests to support and support local product groups, in particular through the construction and equipment of valorization units, the labeling of local products, support and upgrading of groups of producers of local products, promotional actions at the level of Large and Medium Surfaces (GMS), the implementation implementation of e-commerce and participation in national and international trade fairs, in addition to communication campaigns.
