Application to the Maldives, romantic wedding, now the separation: After six years of marriage, presenter Laura Wontorra and footballer Simon Zoller are now going their separate ways.

They were considered the dream couple in German football, now their love is over: Laura Wontorra and Simon Zoller. In 2014, the sports presenter and the professional from VfL Bochum found each other. On Boxing Day 2015, Zoller then asked his girlfriend the all-important question and asked for her hand in marriage. “We both have our 26th birthday, Laura in February, me in June – that’s why I wanted to do it on the 26th,” he explained at the time.

A year later they said yes in a Cologne registry office, including white doves and a decorated vintage car.

But these days, Wontorra and Zoller were mostly seen separately. The couple hardly shared any private posts or oaths of love on their Instagram profiles either. Most recently, Wontorra shared a picture with her husband in April of this year. On the other hand, he called her the “love of his life” in February, but has since deleted the post.

Confirmation from management

“Laura Wontorra and Simon Zoller split up a few weeks ago. Both ask that their privacy be respected,” their management told the “Bild” newspaper.

Wontorra is currently one of the most sought-after (sports) moderators in Germany. She continues to comment on sports events on the DAZN pay channel, but you shouldn’t put her in the sports drawer. On Sunday evenings she leads the evening on Vox with “Grill den Henssler”. In September it was also made public that Wontorra will moderate the upcoming – final – season of “Deutschland sucht den Superstar”.
