The Republican Rights (DR, formerly Les Républicains), the party led by Laurent Wauquiez in the National Assembly, which rejects any coalition government, presented on Monday July 22 a “Emergency Legislative Agreement” shed “prevent the country from being blocked” in order to get his ideas, especially to fight against “abuses” in social assistance and “Uncontrolled immigration”. “It is not a federal union: we are independent and we will remain so”emphasized Mr. Wauquiez during a joint press conference with Bruno Retailleau, his colleague in the Senate.
With this “legislative agreement”which includes thirteen words, right put on the table of rules on which it is “Ready to do” if the next government accepts it, insists Mr. Wauquiez, making the difference with a Union. “A union (…) he signed a blank check”he explained, adding that two points of no return would mean the transfer of the movement of censure: an increase in taxes or the non-calculation of pensions.
47 representatives in the Assembly
The text, which essentially takes up long-social demands of the right, will give priority to the revaluation of “France that works” with intent to fight “help”. The word asks “stopping uncontrolled immigration” and it implements the measures that the Constitutional Council considered at the beginning of the year, when the right increased the law on immigration. It offers a box of “Access to social assistance with minimum duration” or replacement of “Cripple [aide médicale d’Etat] through emergency medical assistance ». The “pact” also intended to restore order internally “Social assistance suspended for offenders and parents of young offenders”.
The Republican Right, which has forty-four representatives in the National Assembly, played a central role on Thursday, July 18, in supporting the election of the Macronist Yaël Braun-Pivet.
Before the presentation of this “pact” from the right, Gabriel Attal, who has resigned from the government and leader of the Macronist delegation, proposed to the elected representatives of his party “subscribe” to the agreement of “Community” along with “Republican left and/or right”. Last week, the Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin, called representatives of the Macronist camp to “work with Republicans on the merits”.
For his part, Eric Ciotti, who received the franchise with the electoral coordination established with the National Rally, criticized what he considered as “Partnership with macronie”. Them “pact” East “one more step to become Emmanuel Macron’s supporters”, he added in a letter addressed to the observers of Les Républicains. Mr. Ciotti, who is still officially president of the group, announced his decision to resign “In the coming weeks” consultation to ask the activists if they want an alliance with the Macronist camp or with the right wing.
