Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said today that Moscow does not recognize signs from Kiev or the West that there is a desire for a political solution to the war in Ukraine.

“So far we have not seen any sign from Kiev or its masters that they are ready for a political agreement,” said the head of Russian diplomacy at a press conference in Skopje, where he participated in the 30th meeting of the Organization’s foreign ministers. for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).

In early October, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, signed a formal decree that confirms “the impossibility of holding negotiations with the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin” and binds all national citizens.

On the other hand, “if we listen to the leaders of NATO and the European Union, they say only one thing: we have a duty to support Ukraine, because if Ukraine is defeated, it will be the defeat of the entire West,” said Lavrov.

To “start a political process you need two, like tango, but the guys on the other side don’t dance tango, they dance breakdance”, he added.

Therefore, he stressed, Russia sees no reason to review the objectives of its military campaign in Ukraine, which Putin defined as the “demilitarization and denazification” of the neighboring country.
