The Permanent Commission of Congress from Mexico City called the Council of the Federal Judicature to eradicate the judicial corruption within the institution.

In a session, Deputy Alberto Martínez Urincho, from the Morena Parliamentary Group, stated that the objective is for the Federal Judiciary Council to create an internal commission to monitor emblematic or strategic litigation processes that are developed within the scope of jurisdiction, with the aim of ensuring compliance with human rights, the prevalence of the rule of law and compliance with resolutions that put an end to jurisdictional procedures.

During his speech, the Morena legislator pointed out that judicial corruption in the country is generated and protected by police, public prosecutors, judges and prison officials.

“Judicial corruption in Mexico is generated and protected by the actions of the various agents involved in the judicial system,” said the Morena legislator.

He also stressed that between January 1, 2019, and October 31, 2021, the CJF reviewed 1,188 complaints and reports about public officials, audited 36 administrative areas, and conducted 1,347 follow-ups on asset developments, thereby revealing different forms of corruption.
