Lawrence Wong: The next review is at the end of December

by time news

Finance Minister Lawrence Wong has said there is no prospect of further easing of Singapore’s Covit-19 restrictions next month.

He said the next review would take place by the end of December if all goes well.

He told a news conference at the Kovit-19 ministerial working group yesterday that this was part of the government’s step-by-step approach to tackling the corona virus.

There have been calls for easing restrictions in other areas, such as workplace restrictions and permits for attractive places.

However, he said Singapore would only relax one restriction for now.

It was announced yesterday that up to five people could gather next Monday.

Other than that, Mr Wong said, “everything is not going to go away for now.

Mr Wong said the next steps would probably be considered by the end of December if the situation was monitored over the next few weeks and the overall situation remained stable.
