A lawyer was arrested today by agents attached to the Mayagüez Highway Patrol Division, for driving in an apparent state of drunkenness on highway #2, Zafiro street intersection in this municipality.
According to the report of the Uniformed, Mariano J. Ríos Serrano, 33 years old and resident of San Juan, was intervened after allegedly driving a 2014 Mercedes Benz 250 against traffic in the direction described above. Ríos Serrano was arrested for allegedly obstructing justice and for assaulting Sergeant Dann López with a fist to the face. He also refused a breath and blood sample.
The case was consulted with prosecutor Manuel Cintrón of the Mayagüez prosecutor’s office who ordered him to be left in the cell to fill out a search warrant for the vehicle described above, and to file criminal charges.
Sergeant Dann López received medical attention, and the case is scheduled for Tuesday, May 2, 2023.
