The alleged victim told the police that he went to the lawyer’s apartment under the belief that he was “going to show him a video of a court case.”
MIAMI.- And attorney that provides representation to victims of sexual assault He was arrested Wednesday on charges of raping a woman in his apartment in a posh section of Miami.
Lawyer Adam Bair, 39, who describes himself on his website as a “Personal Injury and Sexual Assault Lawyer,” appeared in court Thursday on charges of sexual assault and false imprisonment.
According to the arrest report, the 24-year-old alleged victim told Miami police that she went to Bair’s Edgewater apartment on July 20, believing the attorney was “going to show her a video of a judicial case”.
According to police, Bair began “kissing and fondling her.” Then, according to the investigations, “the victim repeatedly pushed the defendant telling him to stop and that she did not want anything sexual with him.”
The report states that “the victim then went to the bathroom and when she returned, she found the defendant naked and touching his penis.”
The official account of the events also states that “throughout the incident, the victim tried to push (Bair) and pleaded with the defendant to stop while continually saying that he did not want to engage in any sexual activity.”
According to the report, the lawyer pushed the girl onto the bed. “When she tried to get up to leave, he proceeded to push her back on the bed and told her ‘you can’t leave.’ I want you to stay. I need you to stay the night,’” the report says.
“The victim continued to try to leave, but (Bair) continued to pull her and stop her from leaving multiple times. (He) eventually released the victim under the belief that he would see her again,” the report read.
Police arrested Bair on Wednesday and the court set bail at $12,500.
