Lawyer Miguel Ángel Del Río responds to the Prosecutor’s Office about his photo in the graph of those involved in the revelations of Nicolás Petro

Before the publication by the Attorney General of the Nation of a graph that shows the connection of 27 people who were allegedly connected and linked to “obtaining resources” with illicit money for the presidential campaign of the current president, Gustavo Petro, the lawyer Miguel Ángel Del Río, who appears in the graphic, reacted when he saw his photo in the painting, pointing out that “in all the intervention of the prosecutor Burgos, not a single mention of my name has been made.”

Among these 27 names appears that of the first lady of the nation, Verónica Alcocer; the former Minister of the Interior and today Ambassador to France, Alfonso Prada; criminal lawyer Miguel Ángel del Río; the representative to the Chamber Agmeth Escaf; the ICT Minister, Mauricio Lizcano; the director of the DPS, Cielo Rusinque; the adviser Eduardo Noriega; and businessmen Cristian Daes and Euclides Torres. Likewise, the former sports minister María Isabel Urrutia; the former chief of staff Laura Sarabia; former ambassador Armando Benedetti; former congressman Mario Fernández Alcocer, and Máximo Noriega, among others.

The image was presented in the midst of the scandal that hit the president, after Nicolás Petro, son of the president, admitted that money from a former drug lord entered the presidential campaign of his father, who does not deny the confession that has in suspense to his leftist government.

A son of Alfonso “el turco” Hilsaca, a businessman accused in the past by the prosecution of financing paramilitary groups and planning homicides, also gave money to Nicolás Petro, according to the prosecutor in the case, Mario Burgos.

According to the investigator, the president’s eldest son kept a portion “and another part” of the money “was invested in the presidential campaign.”

The explosive call from Máximo Noriega to Day Vásquez

In the middle of the hearing for a security measure against Nicolás Petro, son of President Gustavo Petro, and his ex-wife, Day Vásquez, the Prosecutor’s Office revealed an explosive call between Day and Máximo Noriega, former candidate for the Governor’s Office of Atlántico for the Historical Pact, in which the latter asks him to return some money to the now former deputy of the Atlantic.
