Layda Sansores and Zoé Robledo supervise progress of IMSS-Bienestar in Campeche

The Governor of Campeche, Layda Sansores San Román, the general director of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), Zoé Robledo, and the Secretary of Health, Jorge Alcocer, held a meeting to evaluate the progress of the IMSS-Bienestar health system in the state.

Before federal and local authorities, the general director reported that 1,779.4 million pesos have been invested in infrastructure work, including equipment and maintenance work, basic training, new hiring of doctors and progress in the “La Clínica es Nuestra” program.

During their working tour of Campeche, the general directors of IMSS and OPD IMSS-Bienestar, accompanied by their work teams, toured the facilities of the Maternal and Child Hospital of Ciudad del Carmen, which includes an investment of 900 million pesos.

During this tour, the construction, remodeling and equipping project of a total area of ​​11,4536 m2 for specialized medical care in maternal health for the benefit of approximately 136,942 inhabitants was reviewed.

The new IMSS hospital, which will have a new construction expansion of 380.51 m2, will be equipped with high-tech equipment and will have hospitalization, surgery, intensive care unit (ICU) for adults and neonates, outpatient clinic, treatment assistants, laboratory, diagnostics, general services, government area, and a total of 38 census beds.

Subsequently, federal and state authorities, together with their work teams, held a meeting to evaluate the progress of the IMSS-Bienestar Health Care Model (MAS) in the entity, in order to comply with the instruction of the President of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, to carry out a monthly evaluation in each of the 23 federal entities that are part of the federalization of health services.

The director general of the Decentralized Public Body (OPD) IMSS-Bienestar, Alejandro Calderón Alipi; the head of the IMSS in the state of Campeche, Flor Irene Rodríguez Melo; the Secretary of Health in the state, Josefa Castillo Avendaño, among others, were present on the tour.
