Fiorentina beat Lazio 2-1 with a second-half comeback to clinch the seventh-placed derby with Bonaventura scoring the Viola’s winner.
In the seventh-place derby, Fiorentina beat Lazio 2-1 and even with a reversal in the score as the violas found themselves behind in the score in the 45th minute, but with two goals in the second half they prevailed and overtook the “Lazziali” in the scoreboard.
The visitors took the lead with a goal from Luis Alberto in the 45th minute of the first half. The Lazio players circulated the ball beautifully, changed several passes, went on the counter attack with Alberto the final recipient of the ball who stepped into the area and slotted home for 0-1.
The hosts leveled the game in the 61st minute when Kayonte stole the ball down the middle, passed the ball to the left and moved into attack. He found himself in the area and was there on a cross from the left to control and shoot for 1-1 in the match.
Fiorentina won a penalty in the 65th minute for a challenge in the area with Gonzalez taking the penalty in the 66th minute but he sent the ball wide of the right-hand post and the 1-1 draw between the two teams remained.
Three minutes later, however, the hosts found the breakthrough goal. On a shot from outside the area Provendel cleared the ball but not far with Bonaventura from the height of the small area with a new player sending the ball into the net.
