Lazio players celebrate (Reuters)
The eighth round of the Italian league continued today (Sunday), when Lazio hosted Spezia in a one-sided game where at the end Maurizio Sarri’s men defeated the blacks and whites 0:4 and they are in good momentum after beating Cremonza 0:4 in the previous round as well. Later, Sassuolo dismantled Salernitana 0:5, Monza beat Sampdoria 0:3 and Atalanta beat Fiorentina 0:1 to move up to second place.
Lazio – Spezia 0:4
Already in the 3rd minute, the referee pointed to the penalty spot for Lazio, but Ciro Immobila missed from 11 meters. In the 12th minute Mattea Zaccani was the first to open the barrage, ten minutes later Alessio Romagnoli scored the second. The second half continued to be one-sided, with Sergej Milankovic-Savic scoring a brace in the 60th and 90th minutes to give Lazio their fifth win of the season at the top of Serie A.
Atalanta – Fiorentina 0:1
The group from Bergamo continues with its excellent start to the season and beat the purples with a goal by Andemola Luckman who saved in the 59th minute a header from Luis Muriel. Atalanta is still unbeaten this season in the Italian league, while Fiorentina is only in 11th place.
Sassuolo – Salernitana 0:5
The green-blacks celebrated with a show at the guest’s expense. Armand Lorraine opened in the 12th minute and in the 39th minute Andre Piamonti doubled in favor of the host. Sassuolo did not stop and in the second half continued to run over Salernitana with goals from Christian Thorstvedt (53), Abdu Harvey (76), and Giannis Antist (90+1) as it completes a second consecutive victory in Serie A.
Monza – Sampdoria 0:3
The bottom battle went in the direction of the host who took the lead in the 11th minute from a goal by Matteo Pesina. In the 67th minute Gianluca Caparari doubled and in the 94th minute, deep into the added time, Stefano Sensi, ex-Inter, determined the final result. Samadoria is deep in the last place with only 2 points, Monza with a little air to breathe when she rose to the 16th place with 7 points to her credit.
