As a result of long-term efforts, the scientific research team of “LB Bulgaricum” managed to develop a new bifidobacterial preparation, including the probiotic strain Bifidobacterium longum ssp. longum, reported the state milk processing enterprise.

The strain was selected based on scientific studies with state-of-the-art research equipment and comparing the results of a large number of strains of lactic acid bacteria. The strength of this strain is that it combines various probiotic properties, including significant adhesion to intestinal epithelial cells and a high survival rate in the gastrointestinal tract. All this enhances the beneficial effect of the strain on the human body, the company states.

“LB Bulgaricum” informs that “a clinical study in a prestigious university hospital proves indisputably that the innovative development brings significant health and preventive benefits”. The preparation will find application in primary and secondary prevention of cardiovascular and inflammatory diseases, control of the risk of diabetes and atherosclerosis, as well as various metabolic diseases such as hyperlipidemia and insulin resistance.

The new probiotic product will be available in the form of sachets, particularly suitable for the preparation of smoothies or as an additive to yogurts and other healthy foods. The preparation will also find its place in the growing product range of healthy and probiotic products of “LB Bulgaricum”, reported BTA.
