At the board meeting held at the end of December, the president of LBSF, Ansis Zeltiņš, informed that on November 21, 2024, the working relationship with the current general secretary Zinti Ekmani was concluded. In the vote, Zeltiņš, Kristaps Kotāns and Prūsis confirmed the candidacy of Janikas Judeikas.
Newly elected general secretary Janika Judeika: “This is a new beginning in the federation for various reasons, and we are ready not only to continue to achieve the highest goals, but also not to be afraid of the challenges that await us. The year has been intense, but we have managed to put everything aside and pull something like nothing stops, we are determined to move forward to achieve the highest results in the coming years, especially focusing on Milan-Cortina 2026. Only in a united team, with a clear vision and tireless work, we will be able to overcome obstacles and strengthen Latvia’s place among the world’s sports elite.”
Judeika has been a member of the LBSF board for several years, as well as a competition director in the stages of the World Cup and European Cup held in Sigulda. Less than 20 years ago, Janika Judeika, then with the surname Dzeguze, was a bobsled pusher, participating in the World Cup competition.
