by times news cr

“Thanks to a proactive policy, the country has seen the emergence of many quality museums in its major cities,” writes the French newspaper in an article entitled “Travel to Morocco: the ten museums not to be missed under any circumstances,” emphasizing that “Morocco has never been so culturally rich.”

According to the publication, new high-quality museums have sprung up in most cities, “under the impetus of the National Museum Foundation, which has been carrying out remarkable work for more than ten years in restoring heritage and modernizing museography, and private initiatives.”

The newspaper, which introduces its readers to its ten “favorite” museums in the Kingdom, also highlights the diversity of the collections presented: modern and contemporary African and Moroccan art, photographs, collections of jewelry and adornments, Islamic arts or knowledge and know-how around water.

Among the museums mentioned are the Al Maaden Museum of Contemporary African Art, the Yves Saint Laurent Museum and the Mohammed VI Museum for the Civilization of Water in Marrakech, the Oudayas, National Museum of Fine Jewelry, and the Mohammed VI Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Rabat, the Foundation for Photography and the La Kasbah Museum of Mediterranean Cultures in Tangier, as well as Dar al Batha in Fez and the Abderrahmane Slaoui Foundation in Casablanca.

The media finally invites its readers to explore these cultural treasures to discover the richness and diversity of Moroccan heritage, giving advice and details on each museum, in particular their unique architecture.
