Leaders ask for an extension for the Trust Fund

The governors of Norte Grande asked President Alberto Fernández for a new extension of the Provincial Development Trust Fund (FFDP), considering that the loans generated through this mechanism “are vital for the region.” The governor of Santiago del Estero, Gerardo Zamora, through his social networks, announced the note that the leaders presented to Fernández, in which it is stated that the leaders “of the Argentine provinces of the northern region of Argentina , we request that you arrange the extension of the duration of the Provincial Development Trust Fund (FFDP) created by Decree No. 286/95, until February 27, 2050.” The governors based this request “on the positive impact that FFDP loans generate in the financing of public policy programs for development and fiscal consolidation, vital for the jurisdictions.” The note was signed, in addition to Zamora, by the governors Gustavo Sáenz (Salta); Raúl Jalil (Catamarca); Gildo Insfrán (Formosa); Ricardo Quintela (La Rioja); Gerardo Morales (Jujuy), Oscar Herrera Ahuad (Misiones), Gustavo Valdés (Corrientes) and Juan Manzur (Tucumán). On Thursday, the current and elected governors, of different political groups, signed a commitment document with the purpose of promoting a shared reform of the tax on bank credits and debits. The initiative seeks to create compensation for these provinces for the reduction of resources that implied the increase in the non-taxable minimum of Profits, which was sanctioned by a law of Congress.
