According to a leak revealed by Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the upcoming iPhone 15 models that will be launched later in 2023 will adopt the Wi-Fi 6E standard.
Apple already uses Wi-Fi 6E for the 11- and 12.9-inch iPad Pro models introduced last year, along with the new Mac mini and 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro models. However, Apple did not use Wi-Fi 6E in the iPhone 14 lineup.
Although other analysts revealed that Apple was relying on “WiFi 6E”, the rumors did not confirm whether all iPhone 15 models would be based on this technology.
Wi-Fi 6E devices can connect to the 6GHz band, using compatible routers and cable modems, providing a faster connection, lower latency, and less interference than found in the standard 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands.
WiFi 6E has become more popular lately, and to take full advantage of it, you need a WiFi 6E router, which is sold by a bunch of companies like Netgear and Asus.
Other iPhone 15 features will include USB-C connectivity, faster 3nm A17 chips for Pro models, periscope lens technology, volume and power buttons, an upgrade to titanium, and an expansion of Dynamic Island, according to the McRumors website.
