New Leaked Video Provides Insight into Sony Project Q Handheld Game-Streaming Device

A leaked video posted by Zuby_Tech on Twitter has seemingly answered some questions about the highly anticipated Sony Project Q handheld game-streaming device. While it’s important to note that this video showcases a basic version of the device, it offers a glimpse into the underlying Android OS and menu system.

In the video, a plastic-wrapped Sony Project Q device is shown, featuring a simple menu system and a QR code. Although it is unlikely that the final version of the handheld’s menu will resemble what is seen in the leaked video, it provides some insights into the device’s functionality.

The individual showcasing the device quickly navigates through the menu before revealing different angles of the handheld. However, due to the low resolution, it is difficult to discern specific details. Nonetheless, observers have pointed out what appear to be four buttons behind the tablet portion, centered holes on the top and bottom edges that could potentially be microphones, and speaker slots on the top edge.

In a separate tweet by Zuby_Tech, a picture of the tablet with the screen removed is shared, revealing the frame and internal components.

The Sony Project Q was initially announced in May and is expected to be an 8-inch tablet complemented by DualSense controllers. Unlike the Nintendo Switch or the Steam Deck, it will not function as a standalone device but will serve as an accessory for the PS5, allowing users to stream games from their console. This makes it somewhat comparable to the Nintendo Wii U.

During the PlayStation Showcase announcement, Sony provided limited details about the Project Q. It was revealed that the device features a 1080p LCD display running at 60fps and utilizes Wi-Fi to connect to the PS5. Running on Android, it is speculated that the device’s capabilities could extend beyond game-streaming.

As anticipation builds for the official release of the Sony Project Q handheld game-streaming device, enthusiasts eagerly await further details and updates about its features and functionalities.
