Leapmotor Unveils A10: A New Era of Affordable, long-Range Electric SUVs

A versatile and “smart, long-range premium compact SUV,” the Leapmotor A10 – known as the B03X in international markets – debuted today, November 21, 2025, at the Guangzhou Auto Show, signaling a new approach to electric vehicle design and affordability. The A10, built on Leapmotor’s all-new global A platform, aims to redefine the compact SUV segment by challenging conventional industry trade-offs.

Redefining the Compact SUV Landscape

Leapmotor is positioning the A10 to disrupt the notion that premium features demand a high price tag, that smaller cars lack advanced technology, and that compact size necessitates sacrificing interior space. According to a company release, the A10 integrates “world-class clever technology, best-in-segment EV range, flexible space and globally recognized quality.”

The vehicle boasts notable dimensions – exceeding 4,200 mm in length, 1,800 mm in width, and 1,600 mm in height, with a wheelbase surpassing 2,600 mm – combining the practicality of an SUV with the maneuverability needed for urban environments.

Technological Innovation at its Core

The A10 is built on Leapmotor’s latest LEAP architecture, offering a suite of advanced features. These include comprehensive driver assistance systems, an intelligent cockpit powered by artificial intelligence (AI), and over-the-air (OTA) updates throughout the vehicle’s lifespan. Performance is a key focus, with the A10 achieving up to 500 km of range based on the china Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle (CLTC) standard, thanks to a high-density lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery.

Visually, the A10 features a distinctive design with six color options, 18-inch sports wheels, semi-hidden door handles, a floating roofline, and a signature “smile” light design intended for immediate brand recognition.

Targeting a Broad Customer Base

Leapmotor anticipates the A10 will appeal to a diverse range of consumers. “the A10 will appeal to pragmatic customers looking for a premium yet affordable second car for the daily commute,” the company stated, “as well as first-time EV buyers upgrading from compact internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles without compromising on safety, space or smart technology.”

Leapmotor’s Rise and Global Ambitions

Founded in 2015 by electrical engineer Zhu Jiangming, Leapmotor has quickly established itself as a technology-driven smart electric vehicle (EV) company. Headquartered in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China, the company handles the entire process from design and research to progress and production, including key components like assisted driving systems, electronic engine control, battery systems, and cloud solutions for connected vehicles.

Leapmotor emphasizes in-house development, with 65% of vehicle costs attributed to internally produced components. The company has pioneered several industry firsts, including an eight-in-one electric drive system, mass-produced battery-chassis integration CTC technology, and a “four-in-one” centralized electronic and electrical architecture. Currently, Leapmotor offers a diverse product lineup including the B01, B03X, B05, B10, C16, C10, C11, C01, and T03, with options for both pure electric and extended-range powertrains.

A significant turning point came in 2023 with an investment from the Stellantis Group. This partnership culminated in the establishment of Leapmotor International in early May 2024,dedicated to expanding the brand’s reach into global markets.

leapmotor’s commitment to innovation and strategic partnerships positions it as a key player in the rapidly evolving electric vehicle landscape.
