jpnn.comJAKARTA – BPJS Health received a special visit from guests from Japan who are partners of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) who want to study the National Health Insurance (JKN) ecosystem.

This visit shows international interest in the success of BPJS Health in managing the JKN Program which is increasingly recognized worldwide.

The Main Director of BPJS Health, Ghufron Mukti, in his speech said that through the JKN Program, BPJS Health has succeeded in bringing Indonesia to achieve the title Universal Health Coverage (UHC) with membership coverage reaching 98.67 percent of the total population of Indonesia as of September 1 2024.

Currently, the JKN Program has covered more than 277 million people throughout the country.

“BPJS Health is here as part of Indonesia’s efforts to achieve Sustainable Development Goals “(SDGs) set by the UN, specifically targeting reducing poverty rates and living a healthy and prosperous life,” said Ghufron.

He said the JKN program not only provides health insurance, but also includes promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative services, which aim to maintain public health.

To ensure quality health services, BPJS Health has collaborated with First Level Health Facilities (FKTP), such as Community Health Centers, clinics, as well as individual practice doctors, and Advanced Level Referral Health Facilities (FKRTL) such as hospitals.

“This collaboration goes through a credentialing process to ensure that JKN participants receive fast, easy and equal services in accordance with the Service Quality Transformation proposed by BPJS Health since 2023,” explained Ghufron.
